Mr. Aamer Saleemi serves as the Executive Director/ Member of Zones Development & Management at the Special Technology Zones Authority (STZA). Here, he is responsible for leading the development and operationalization of Special Technology Zones and Innovation Clusters across Pakistan, including the Islamabad Technopolis. These are being designed as world-class, environment-friendly technology destinations, intended to enable the development of a technology-driven knowledge economy in Pakistan, by empowering Innovation, Entrepreneurship and Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in the country. He holds post-graduate degrees with honours in Economics and Business Administration.

Aamer is a goal-oriented project management professional and a certified director, who served on the board of various Federal and Provincial public sector organizations. Driven by his desire to enable socio-economic growth in the country, Aamer has represented Pakistan at various global investment forums. He has also served as the nominated representative of the Government of Punjab in the Joint Working Group (JWG) meetings on industrial cooperation, under the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) Joint Cooperation Committee (JCC).

Aamer’s diverse professional experience spanning 17 years, includes the development and management of Special Economic Zones and Industrial Parks including Pakistan’s first and largest CPEC priority Special Economic Zone. He served as the Chief Operating Officer of the Faisalabad Industrial Estate Development and Management Company (FIEDMC), which is the largest Special Economic Zones development and management company in Pakistan.

At FIEDMC, Aamer managed a foreign direct investment portfolio of more than USD 1.35 Billion from China, Korea, UAE, Canada, Malaysia and Turkey, and lead the materialization of more than USD 2 Billion in investments by the local investors in the manufacturing sector, which created more than 85000 jobs in the region. For his achievements, the President of Pakistan conferred upon him the Business Excellence Award in 2019.
